Their purpose-driven commitment to sustainability, social responsibility, and environmental protection is part of Twin Metals’ DNA.

Sustainability is not just a word to us at Twin Metals and Antofagasta. We have goals to back it up.

Recently, Antofagasta announced new greenhouse gas reduction targets as part of its Climate Change Strategy and its wider commitment to operate sustainably as a leading copper producer. They have committed to:

• Reduce direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions by 30%, or by 730,000 tons of CO2, by 2025.
• Achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
• Transition all mining operations to use 100% renewable energy by 2022.
• Additionally, they have also begun the process of certifying copper production at two of their operations with the Copper Mark standard, an internationally validated assurance framework demonstrating that copper is produced under the highest standards for sustainability.

With Antofagasta’s guidance as a global mining leader, and Twin Metals’ local, Minnesota-based expertise, we are working to advance a world-class mine that will serve as a model for the industry and a source of pride for Minnesotans.
