Glenn Barr
Vice President, Engineering
Leading engineering studies, overseeing metallurgical test work programs and integrating environmental protection measures into our project design are several of my work areas as Vice President of Engineering at Twin Metals. I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside a great team in my nine years at the company, and I’m passionate about creating a new benchmark for mining in the 21st century and beyond. We have a world-class deposit with the potential to contribute to domestic production of strategic minerals while supporting local communities.
I worked in various roles at Stantec and Teck for nearly 20 years prior to joining the Twin Metals team. As an Engineering Liaison at Stantec, I was able to guide environmental and engineering consultants in ensuring alignment and work efficiencies. While at Teck, I developed and commercialized a novel hydrometallurgical process, and I’m most proud of having the opportunity to build a world class team to construct a large hydrometallurgical plant in Brazil.
I’m originally from Victoria, BC, Canada and currently live in Hugo, Minnesota with my wife. Outside of work, I enjoy gardening, permaculture, cooking, bike racing and science fiction. Having grown up in the Pacific Northwest, I was used to having only two seasons: wet and less wet. I really enjoy the true four seasons that Minnesota has to offer.
