Northeastern Minnesota is standing at the doorstep of several new mining projects that will add billions in value to what we’ve already had here on the Iron Range.

One such project, on the Vermilion Range, is the proposed Twin Metals Minnesota Mine, which plans for the extraction of copper, nickel, cobalt, and platinum group metals.

A key player in their drive to open a high-tech, environmentally friendly, and safe mining facility is Dean DeBeltz, who is a lifelong resident of Ely and a fourth-generation miner.
