Throughout its 130+ year history, Minnesota’s mining industry has
employed thousands of people. It’s our hope that mining will continue to fuel the
economy of the state’s northeast region, support families and contribute
to community growth.
Once our mine is operational, we expect to directly employ more than 750 people long-term with privately funded well-paying jobs. Another 1,500 non-mining jobs in the community will also be created through industries like equipment supplies, manufacturing, retail, healthcare, education and transportation.
Several million labor hours will be generated during construction, on par with the construction of U.S. Bank Stadium and Target Field in the Twin Cities. Under a Project Labor Agreement signed in August 2019 with the Iron Range Building and Construction Trades Council, union workers will complete construction of the entire TMM underground mine.
Take a look at some of the local jobs that will be created through our project:
The Twin Metals Minnesota project is still very much in the design phase, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t looking for talented people to join our team.
Twin Metals Minnesota is proud to be an equal opportunity employer that values a diverse workforce.
